God's Faithfulness

Friends,

We are thrilled to tell you what God has done!

Because of all of you who have partnered with us through donations, pledges, prayer and fasting...the need has been met in just the nick of time.

Now all that's left is obtaining our visas, getting final clearance from AGWM, packing up and saying goodbye to our dear friends and family.

God has proven again that His specialty is the impossible, and He has given us yet another testimony to share.

"God is not a man that He should lie;
He doesn't change His mind like humans do.
Has He ever promised without doing what He said?"
Numbers 23: 19

Be blessed and thank you for your support over the past 2 years!
We'll continue to be in touch during our new adventure.

Scotland Visit

Labor Day weekend was unlike any other since Tod spent it in....Aberdeen, Scotland!

We never thought such a privilege would be possible until we unexpectedly received donations from a dear couple and church family who were compelled to make it a reality.

Upon Tod's arrival a very warm welcome was given by Scottish Pastor Iain Duthie of
King's Community Church where we will be serving.

Tod was able to meet our new church family, look for housing/transportation, and tour a maternity hospital. (At the time of the move we'll be just a few months away from having our baby, so we appreciate the head start on all the practical things.)

You won't be surprised to hear that Aberdeen feels like home. We're almost there!

Better Together

Six congregants got together, mostly elderly ladies,
and told their pastor, "Each of us want to give $5 more a month
so that we can help the Chapins get to Scotland!"

At 8:05am Tod received a phone call from the pastor of a small church of a dozen people. They already support several missionaries and did not have funds in their church budget to pick up another missionary family.

But at the church's board meeting, six of the congregants got together, mostly elderly ladies, and told the pastor, "Each of us want to give $5 more a month so that we can help the Chapins get to Scotland!"

It's acts like these that move us to tears. We are inspired by their resourcefulness and generosity.

Get this! If everyone reading these words (yes, you!) pledged $5 a month, we would instantly reach 100% of our goal and be able to leave immediately for the mission field to fulfill God's calling.

Some of you can do more and some less. It's amazing what can happen when believers come together.

We have been given a deadline of October 31 to gather the remainder of the funds. The clock is ticking!

This endeavor is surely exciting and we're seeking your help today. Please join us by clicking here to print and mail a pledge form to send in with your first gift. Write us with your requests and praises. We can't wait to hear stories of how God is blessing you for your sacrifice and faithfulness!

We are overjoyed to announce that we are expecting a new addition to our family! God is so good and we are thrilled for this great blessing. Our baby is due in February so he/she will be born in Scotland!

Witnessing the Power of God

You know those times when you see God move and you are truly awestruck?

Throughout our travels we have shared our testimony of how God brought a miraculous healing in our lives, which has given us the opportunity to pray with many people who stepped up in faith to receive prayer for their need.

Well, this month we were thrilled to discover that two families that we prayed with have also received a miraculous healing in their lives! Hallelujah!

Scotland Prayer Team

prayer photo
Since we know the power of prayer, we are asking for:

          1. the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts in Scotland who will soon hear the Gospel
          2. health and safety for all three of us as we travel
          3. churches and friends moved to give so the remainder of our budget will be raised
          4. blessings upon those giving and praying

We are recruiting a team of prayer warriors who are committing to regularly pray for us.

We believe that as you pray, you reap in the blessings as new souls in Scotland come to know and belong to Christ!

The River

Over the past months that we have been visiting churches to share our hearts for Scotland, there have been some very precious times that God has used people to speak into our lives.

A couple weeks ago a woman shared a vision that she received for us. She saw ancient ruins as dry as bones, and the remnants of an ancient building without a top.

Running through the middle of the ruins was a very wide river that was white not from rapids, but from the speed that it was bringing life into the dry land.

She went on to tell us that this is how God is going to pour out his Spirit in Scotland. You can imagine our thrill and amazement to hear such a vision, confirming God's outpouring on its way!

The Nitty Gritty...23%

We are more than half way through the time allowed for itineration and we have 23% of the necessary pledges. Doing the math you can see that we need a big boost of pledges from friends, small groups and churches.

If you are waiting for a rainy day to start your pledge, I hear that there is a thunderstorm headed our way. :)

In order to leave for the field, we need 100% of active (currently giving) pledges.

You might think that your contribution of $5 or $10 a month is small, but...if everyone reading these words did that, we would be at 100% in an instant!

If you want to invest in the Kingdom through this ministry, please click here to complete a commitment form. Or you could give us a call, send an email or send a carrier pigeon and we'll walk you through the easy process. We would LOVE to hear from you!

Commissioning Adventure

We took our first family road trip when we packed up and headed to Missouri for 3 weeks of Missionary Training followed by our Missionary Commissioning Service.

There we were able to be with other new and veteran missionaries from all over the world. We felt like college kids again staying in the dorms and learning our way around the campus of Central Bible College, who graciously hosted all 800 of us!

The last night of our trip was especially memorable as we were officially commissioned by Assemblies of God World Missions, along with 99 more
new missionaries who are going to serve in 46 different countries.

During our commissioning prayer, Grayson began to cry and I had to think fast...which someone happened to capture on film. :)

We feel tremendously blessed to have been called and commissioned. We thank God for you who are investing in the Kingdom through your prayers and giving in order to serve the nation of Scotland for Christ!

Your missionaries to Scotland,
Tod & Andrea
